- The initials T.E.D. & E.B are engraved on the lower sides. After Bilbao had been occupied by the Carlists, the Liberals commanded by Espartero attacked the Lutxana bridge (because of its strategic importance) to seize the fort on the top of mount Banderas to win back the city
