- Autographed. "We found the third Navarrese battalion at roll call near the village of Erice. They were known as the Requetés, and were very famous among their forces, due to the prestige they had attained in different actions during the war in which it mounted bayonet charges". Fdez. de Córdova offered Elio "a challenge between this corps and 50 horses, and another of ours of the same strength with 50 riders". The challenge was accepted.
