"...he established a reputation as a skillful artist, illustrating the well-known novel, Matilde or the Crusades [...]. Later he [collaborated] on the Semanario Pintoresco Español [Spanish Picturesque Weekly], and did the illustrations for Mesonero Romanos’s Madrid Scenes...".
