"At the end of this October, once the Bilbao regattas were over, the winning rowers from Pasajes San Pedro challenged the team from Bermeo and others to take part in them [...], and the brave rowers from Ondarroa totally accepted this". The race took place according to stipulated conditions in Donostia on the 29th of October 1888.
